Singapore’s Bukit Timah area is about to get even greener. On Oct 10, Minister for National Development Mr. Chee Hong Tat announced plans for a new nature park at Bukit Timah Turf City — a major milestone in the estate’s transformation into one of Singapore’s most sustainable townships.

🏞️ A 40-Hectare Green Sanctuary
The proposed Turf City Nature Park will span up to 40 hectares, linking the Eng Neo Avenue Forest and Bukit Tinggi through a 100-metre-long green corridor. This connection will enhance wildlife movement and strengthen ecological connectivity across Bukit Timah’s rich natural landscape.
According to the announcement, around 80% of the existing forested area will be retained as green space, preserving much of the estate’s biodiversity. The new park will feature nature trails, boardwalks, and nature play zones — giving residents and visitors the chance to experience nature up close.
🌿 A Vital Part of the Central Nature Park Network
Once completed, the Turf City Nature Park will become the ninth nature park within Singapore’s Central Nature Park Network. It will serve as a protective buffer for the Central Catchment Nature Reserve, reducing the impact of urban development while providing more spaces for outdoor recreation and community engagement.
🏡 Integrating Green Living into Turf City
This announcement follows MND’s 2024 plan to redevelop Bukit Timah Turf City into a vibrant new residential estate with up to 20,000 homes. Ecological studies around the area have shown high biodiversity levels — a key reason why large sections of the natural forest will be preserved.

📢 Community Engagement & Next Steps
The National Parks Board (NParks) will carry out detailed feasibility studies for the new park. They also plan to work closely with nature groups and local stakeholders to ensure the development balances ecological protection with community recreation.
As Minister Chee highlighted, this project reflects Singapore’s long-term commitment to building sustainable towns that coexist with nature. More details will be shared once NParks finalises the park’s layout and design.

🌳 A Green Future for Bukit Timah
With the addition of this 40-hectare nature park, Turf City is set to become one of Singapore’s most nature-integrated residential estates — blending urban living with lush, thriving ecosystems. It’s another reason why Turf City Condos will redefine green living in the heart of Bukit Timah.
